Two (2) FREE Continuing Education Unit available to California EMS personnel for watching this video

"Mass Casualty Incident Field Operations"

Presented by Dr. Eric Rudnick, MD, FACEP, FAAEM, Medical Director And Mark Belden, Paramedic, Consultant/Instructor and recorded live in front of an audience.

The webcast is presented in 2 parts:

The 1st part is the Overview of the Office of Emergency Services Region 3 Mass Casualty Incident Plan Manual 1.

The 2nd part is the Overview of the Office of Emergency Services Region 3 Mass Casualty Incident Plan Manual 2 - Patient Distribution.

Participants should have a copy of the Region 3 MCI Plan Manuals 1 & 2 for this webcast series.

The purpose of part 1 of this webcast is to present an overview of the OES Region III MCI Plan. The Field Operations Manual describes the response organization, personnel, equipment, resources, and procedures for field operations that are designed to be utilized by the thirteen counties which make up the Governor's Office of Emergency Services (OES) Region III. This plan is intended to establish a regional "minimum" standard. This does not prevent local agencies from developing additional protocols or procedures that do not conflict with this regional standard. This is encouraged.

The purpose of part 2 of this webcast is to present an overview of the OES Region III MCI Plan - Patient Distribution. The Patient Distribution Manual 2 is to outline a plan under the Standardized Emergency Management System (SEMS) and the National Incident Management System (NIMS) for the distribution of patients during a multi or mass casualty incident within an Operational Area or within multiple Operational Areas in the Mutual Aid Region and to destinations outside the Mutual Aid Region.
